- Description: A Chinese Manchu court-lady's wedding robe. It is finely embroidered in coloured silk threads on a red satin ground on both sides with a motif of a phoenix on rockwork surrounded by peony flowers and butterflies (symbolic of the bride and happiness). The sleeve panels and borders are similarly decorated. Original silk lining.
